Making, finishing and decorating with tables.
Tables and nightstands are very versatile pieces of furniture. A table of the right proportions can be used as a nightstand, and most nightstands can be used in other rooms for tables.
The main consideration is the height of the table and the height of your furniture in conjunction with the height of the lamp you choose.
The voice of experience here: If you choose an end table to go by your sofa or chair that is too tall, and someone has a beverage in their hand and swings it over to put it on the table . . whack! They end up hitting the side of the table.

~ How to Make a Memory Coffee Table - You won't want to use anything here that you will ever want to touch and feel or read again, because it's permanent. An alternative is to just have a piece of tabletop glass cut to fit the frame instead. But if you're not using memory/collectables you could use old costume jewlery, kids mini cars, do a table for a wedding or shower gift with a copy of the invitation showing the inside and the outside (takes two) add a garter, copies of photos of the couple etc.
